baghouse

Industrial air cleaner

A baghouse is an industrial air pollution control device that filters particulate matter from exhaust gases.

Large fabric bags capture dust, ash, and other particles as contaminated air passes through them—similar in principle to a vacuum cleaner bag but on an industrial scale.

Common in cement plants, steel mills, and power stations: The baghouse removes 99% of particulate emissions.
