backspaces
Removes typed characters
Backspaces is the verb form of backspace—to delete characters by moving the cursor backward.
On a keyboard, hitting backspace erases the character to the left: She backspaces over the typo and retypes the word.
Figuratively, to backspace is to retract or undo something just said or done.
