back-in parking

Tail-first space entry

Back-in parking is a method of parking a vehicle by reversing into a space rather than pulling in forward.

The technique requires more skill initially but makes exiting easier and safer, since the driver can see oncoming traffic directly: The lot requires back-in parking only.

Also called reverse parking or rear-in parking.
