audio feed
Live sound transmission
An audio feed is a continuous stream of sound transmitted from one source to another—from a microphone to a broadcast system, from a venue to remote listeners, or from one device to another.
The term emphasizes the live, ongoing nature of the transmission: We lost the audio feed during the interview.
In broadcasting and production, multiple audio feeds may be mixed or switched between.
