armpits
Deodorant application sites
Armpits are the hollow areas beneath the arms where they join the shoulders.
These warm, often sweaty recesses contain lymph nodes and hair follicles, making them both medically significant and a site of grooming attention.
Because armpits can develop strong odors, they're associated with poor hygiene or exertion: The subway car reeked of armpits.
The armpit of a place is its least desirable area: They called the neighborhood the armpit of the city.
