anonymous author
Identity-hidden penman
An anonymous author is a writer whose identity is unknown or deliberately concealed.
The phrase appears in citations and bibliographies when a work's creator cannot be identified: The manuscript was attributed to an anonymous author.
Distinguished from pseudonymous, where the author uses a false name rather than no name at all.
