alignment charts
Moral axis diagrams
Alignment charts are grids classifying characters, people, or things along two axes—typically moral stance (good, neutral, evil) and approach to rules (lawful, neutral, chaotic).
Originating from Dungeons & Dragons character creation, the format became an internet meme for categorizing anything from celebrities to sandwich-making styles: I made an alignment chart of everyone in the office.
The nine-square grid invites debate about placements.
