advertent
Paying close attention
Advertent means attentive or heedful—the opposite of inadvertent.
Where inadvertent describes something done without awareness or intention, advertent describes deliberate attention: an advertent glance at the clock.
The word is rare, appearing mainly in legal or philosophical contexts where the distinction between conscious and unconscious action matters.
