a la mode
Topped with scoops
A la mode means fashionable or in style, from the French for "in the fashion." In American English, it most commonly describes dessert served with ice cream: apple pie a la mode.
The ice cream sense is distinctly American—elsewhere the phrase retains its original meaning of being stylish or current.
