Wild Cards
Jokers in decks
Wild Cards is a shared-universe anthology series of science fiction stories, created by George R.R.
Martin, featuring an alternate history where an alien virus transforms some humans into superpowered "aces" and grotesquely mutated "jokers." Beyond the franchise, wild cards are unpredictable elements that could change an outcome: The weather is a wild card in tomorrow's game.
In card games, a wild card can represent any card the holder chooses.
