The Rocky Horror Show
Campy sci-fi musical
The Rocky Horror Show is a 1973 British musical comedy with rock songs, camp humor, and science fiction and horror film parodies.
The story follows a naive couple who stumble upon the castle of Dr.
Frank-N-Furter, a self-described "sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania." The show became a cult phenomenon, especially through its 1975 film adaptation, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which spawned audience participation traditions including callbacks, props, and costume dress-up at midnight screenings.
