Lawrence (1888–1935) was a British archaeologist, military officer, and writer who became famous as "Lawrence of Arabia" for his role in the Arab Revolt against the Ottoman Empire during World War I.
His memoir *Seven Pillars of Wisdom* recounts his wartime experiences leading guerrilla raids alongside Arab forces.
Lawrence became a legendary figure—part scholar, part soldier, part myth—whose exploits inspired books and the 1962 David Lean film.
