Sunday strips
Colored newspaper funnies
Sunday strips are the larger, full-color comic strips that appear in newspaper Sunday editions, as distinct from the smaller daily strips that run Monday through Saturday.
The expanded format allows cartoonists more panels and greater visual ambition: The Sunday strips often had more elaborate storylines than the dailies.
Many classic comics like *Calvin and Hobbes* and *Peanuts* are remembered especially for their Sunday strips.
