Soft Cell
Eighties electronic pair
Soft Cell is a British synth-pop duo formed in 1980, best known for their hit "Tainted Love." The pairing of Marc Almond's theatrical vocals with David Ball's minimalist electronic production helped define the early 1980s synthpop sound.
Their music often explored themes of seedy nightlife, obsession, and transgression beneath catchy melodies.
