Rose Parade

New Year's floats

The Rose Parade is an annual New Year's Day procession held in Pasadena, California, featuring elaborate floats decorated entirely with flowers and other natural materials, marching bands, and equestrian units.

Officially called the Tournament of Roses Parade, it has been held since 1890 and precedes the Rose Bowl college football game.

The parade draws hundreds of thousands of spectators to the route along Colorado Boulevard and millions more watching on television.

We got up early to watch the Rose Parade before the football games started.
