Paul Brown
Paul Brown (1908–1991) was an American football coach and team owner who shaped the modern game.
He founded the Cleveland Browns, named after him, and later the Cincinnati Bengals.
Brown pioneered innovations now standard in professional football: the face mask, playbooks, game film study, and the practice of calling plays from the sideline.
His coaching tree extends through generations of NFL coaches.
