Panama hats
Toquilla palm headgear
Panama hats are lightweight, finely woven straw hats with a brimmed crown, traditionally made from the leaves of the toquilla palm.
Despite the name, they originate from Ecuador—the misnomer arose when they were shipped through Panama in the 19th century.
A quality Panama hat is supple enough to roll up for travel without damage.
