Merrie Melodies
Merrie Melodies is a series of animated theatrical short films produced by Warner Bros. beginning in 1931, originally created as a musical showcase to rival Disney's Silly Symphonies.
The series introduced iconic characters including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky Pig, and became synonymous with its sister series Looney Tunes.
Both featured the same directors, animators, and characters, with the distinction between them largely disappearing by the 1940s: I grew up watching Merrie Melodies on Saturday mornings.
