A Kaiser roll is a round bread roll with a distinctive pattern of curved segments radiating from the center, traditionally five folds pressed into the top before baking.
The crust is crusty, the interior soft.
Common for sandwiches, especially in delis: I'll have the turkey on a Kaiser roll.
