Joel Coen

Joel Coen is an American filmmaker who, with his brother Ethan, wrote and directed distinctive films blending dark comedy, crime, and regional American settings: *Blood Simple*, *Fargo*, *The Big Lebowski*, *No Country for Old Men*.

The brothers worked so collaboratively they were often credited jointly as "the Coen Brothers," though Joel typically took the directing credit and Ethan the producing credit.
