Hepatitis A
Fecal-oral liver disease
Hepatitis A is a contagious liver infection caused by the hepatitis A virus, typically spread through contaminated food or water or close contact with an infected person.
Unlike hepatitis B and C, it doesn't become chronic and usually resolves within weeks to months.
A vaccine provides effective prevention: Make sure you get your hepatitis A shot before traveling.
