French coffee

Parisian morning drink

Coffee prepared or served in French style, which typically refers to café au lait—coffee mixed with hot milk in roughly equal proportions.

The term may also describe coffee made with a French press, a brewing method using a plunger to separate grounds from liquid: I'll have the French coffee with warm milk.

Sometimes the phrase simply means coffee served alongside a French meal or pastry.
