Fred and Wilma
Prehistoric animated couple
Fred and Wilma are the central married couple in *The Flintstones*, the animated television series set in a prehistoric Stone Age setting.
Their names function as shorthand for a classic sitcom husband-and-wife dynamic—the loud, impulsive husband and his more sensible, patient spouse: They're like Fred and Wilma, always bickering but devoted.
