Ed Wood
Ed Wood (1924–1978) was an American filmmaker known for low-budget science fiction and horror movies, particularly *Plan 9 from Outer Space*.
His work was characterized by cheap sets, stilted dialogue, and visible production errors.
Once dismissed as the worst director in Hollywood history, Wood became a cult figure whose earnest enthusiasm transcended his limited resources.
His name now evokes affectionate appreciation for ambitious failure: It has a real Ed Wood charm to it.
