East Texas
Louisiana's western neighbor
East Texas is the eastern region of Texas, roughly bounded by the Louisiana and Arkansas borders to the east and north, characterized by pine forests, rolling hills, and a humid subtropical climate that distinguishes it from the drier plains to the west.
The area has a distinct cultural identity shaped by its Southern heritage, timber industry, and oil history.
East Texas is sometimes used more broadly to describe the cultural zone where Texas meets the Deep South.
She grew up in East Texas and still says "fixin' to."
