ClearType
Microsoft text rendering
ClearType is a font-smoothing technology developed by Microsoft that improves text readability on LCD screens.
It works by manipulating the red, green, and blue subpixels of each pixel to render smoother edges on letters, reducing the jagged appearance of text.
The effect is subtle but noticeable, making extended reading less fatiguing.
I turned on ClearType and the text looks much sharper now.
