Christmas pickle
Hidden tree decoration
A Christmas pickle is an ornament shaped like a pickle, hidden on a Christmas tree for children to find.
The finder supposedly receives an extra gift or good luck for the coming year.
Often claimed as a German tradition, but the custom appears to be American in origin and largely unknown in Germany.
We hid the Christmas pickle deep in the branches this year.
