Brünnhilde

Wotan's defiant daughter

Brünnhilde is a Valkyrie in Norse mythology and Germanic legend, most familiar from Wagner's Ring cycle operas.

She defies the god Wotan to protect a mortal hero and is punished by being put into an enchanted sleep, surrounded by fire.

The name evokes a formidable, larger-than-life woman—often one with a powerful voice or commanding presence: She strode in like Brünnhilde ready for battle.
