Blue Grotto
Azure coastal hollow
Blue Grotto is a sea cave on the coast of Capri, Italy, famous for its luminous blue light caused by sunlight passing through an underwater opening.
The name applies to similar caves elsewhere: We visited the Blue Grotto in Malta.
Any dramatically lit underwater cavern may be called a blue grotto.
