Barbie doll

Iconic blonde plaything

A Barbie doll is a fashion doll manufactured by Mattel, characterized by an idealized adult female figure with exaggerated proportions.

The term extends beyond the toy to describe a woman perceived as conventionally attractive but vapid or artificial: She's not some Barbie doll—she has a PhD in physics.

The adjective Barbie-doll suggests plastic prettiness or shallow perfection.
