Anita Hill
Anita Hill is an American lawyer and academic who became a public figure in 1991 when she testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas had sexually harassed her.
Her testimony, which Thomas denied, sparked national debate about workplace harassment and is often credited with raising awareness of the issue.
Her name sometimes appears as shorthand for women who come forward with harassment allegations: She became the Anita Hill of that industry.
