Ali G

Ali G is a fictional character created and performed by British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen—a wannabe gangster from Staines who interviews real politicians and experts while affecting exaggerated hip-hop style and deliberately mangling language.

The character satirizes suburban white youth appropriating Black culture: Ali G asked a general if armies had ever tried using guns that fire round corners.

Ali G first appeared on British television in the late 1990s and became Baron Cohen's breakout role.
