women's issues
Female-focused policy topics
Women's issues are social, political, and economic concerns that disproportionately affect women: reproductive rights, pay equity, workplace discrimination, domestic violence, maternal health.
The term emerged from feminist movements organizing around shared concerns.
Critics sometimes use it dismissively to minimize these topics as narrow or special-interest: They relegated her bill to the women's issues subcommittee.
