wire-frames

Wire-frames are simplified visual representations showing only the structural outline of something.

In design and web development, a wireframe is a skeletal layout of a page or interface—boxes and lines indicating where elements will go, without colors, images, or final styling: Let's review the wireframes before we start on the actual design.

In 3D graphics, wireframe rendering shows objects as networks of connected lines rather than solid surfaces.
