A whackjob is a crazy or unstable person—someone whose behavior or beliefs seem unhinged: Some whackjob called the office threatening to sue over nothing.
The term is dismissive and mildly vulgar, often applied to conspiracy theorists, extremists, or anyone acting erratically.
