wellness check
Concern-driven home call
A wellness check is a visit by police or other authorities to someone's residence to verify they're safe and healthy, typically requested by a concerned friend or family member who can't reach the person: Her coworkers called for a wellness check when she didn't show up for three days.
The term has gained currency as awareness grows of mental health crises and isolated individuals.
In different contexts, wellness check may simply mean a routine health screening or physical examination.
