water flossing
Pressurized gum cleaning
Water flossing is cleaning between teeth and along the gumline using a device that shoots a pressurized stream of water.
It serves the same purpose as traditional string floss—removing food particles and plaque from spaces a toothbrush can't reach: My dentist recommended water flossing for my sensitive gums.
The device itself is called a water flosser or oral irrigator.
