volunteer tutors
Pro bono teachers
Volunteer tutors are people who provide academic instruction or learning support without pay.
The phrase emphasizes both the unpaid nature of the work and its educational purpose: The library relies on volunteer tutors for its literacy program.
Schools, community centers, and nonprofits commonly recruit volunteer tutors to help students with reading, math, or test preparation.
