Invalidated bank draft
A voided check is a check with "VOID" written across it, rendering it unusable for payment.
Banks and employers request voided checks to obtain account and routing numbers for setting up direct deposits or automatic payments: HR asked for a voided check to process my payroll.
The voiding prevents anyone from cashing it.
