vertebrated
Possessing a spine
Vertebrated means having a backbone or spinal column, belonging to the group of animals called vertebrates.
The term appears in older scientific writing but has largely been replaced by simply saying vertebrate: vertebrated animals.
It can also mean divided into segments resembling vertebrae.
