Unphotogenic describes someone or something that doesn't look good in photographs.
A person who is unphotogenic may be perfectly attractive in real life but consistently disappoints on camera: I hate getting my picture taken—I'm so unphotogenic.
The word can also apply to places or objects that fail to photograph well despite their real-world appeal.
