unhanding
Removing one's grip
Unhanding is the act of releasing one's grip on someone or something.
The word appears almost exclusively in the command form unhand me! —a theatrical demand to let go, now used mostly in jest or period fiction.
Outside this archaic imperative, the word sees little use.
