unglued
Came apart psychologically
Unglued describes something that has come apart after being glued: The chair leg came unglued.
More commonly, it describes a person who has lost emotional composure: She came unglued when she heard the news.
To come unglued is to fall apart psychologically—losing control, panicking, or having a breakdown.
