underground casinos
Hidden betting parlors
Underground casinos are illegal gambling establishments operating outside legal regulation—in basements, back rooms, or other hidden locations.
They evade licensing, taxes, and gaming oversight: The police raided an underground casino in Chinatown.
The term extends to any covert gambling operation, from high-stakes poker games in warehouses to informal setups in private homes.
