tufted sofa
Cushioned seating, quilted
A tufted sofa is an upholstered couch with buttons or stitches pulled through the fabric at regular intervals, creating a pattern of dimples and raised cushioning.
The technique, associated with traditional and formal styles, adds texture and prevents filling from shifting: The leather tufted sofa dominated the law office waiting room.
