trophy rooms
Showcases for victories
Trophy rooms are spaces dedicated to displaying awards, mounted animal heads, or other symbols of achievement and conquest.
Hunters traditionally kept trophy rooms to showcase taxidermied game; athletes might display medals and memorabilia.
The term can carry connotations of masculine pride or colonial-era big-game hunting: His grandfather's trophy room was filled with African wildlife.
