time-piece

Wrist or mantle

A timepiece is a device for measuring and displaying time—clocks, watches, and similar instruments.

The term sounds slightly formal or old-fashioned, often appearing in descriptions of antique or decorative items: a handsome brass timepiece on the mantel.

The hyphenated spelling is less common than the solid form.
