time-domain analysis
Signal versus clock
Time-domain analysis examines signals or systems as they change over time, plotting amplitude against time rather than frequency.
Engineers use it to study how circuits respond to inputs, how vibrations decay, or how audio waveforms behave: Time-domain analysis revealed the amplifier's settling time was too slow.
It contrasts with frequency-domain analysis, which breaks signals into component frequencies.
