thesis advisors
Graduate research guides
Thesis advisors are faculty members who guide graduate students through the research and writing of a thesis or dissertation.
They provide expertise in the subject area, help shape the research question, review drafts, and ultimately approve the final work.
The relationship can last years and significantly influences a student's academic development: My thesis advisor pushed me to narrow my focus.
