tansies
Aromatic aster relatives
Tansies is the plural of tansy, a plant with yellow button-like flowers and a strong, bitter scent.
Tansy was once used medicinally and as an insect repellent, though it's now known to be toxic in quantity.
The plants grow wild in temperate regions and are sometimes cultivated in herb gardens: Tansies bordered the old farmhouse path.
